Maggie and Gretchen are both looking for forever homes. Their owner visited a year ago and knew that he may not have much time left in this world and wanted his girls to continue to have the best care possible. He was so impressed with our shelter that when he recently passed, he asked Dog Orphans to care for them and find the homes they deserve. They are both so good. Quiet in the kennel, house trained, walk well on leashes and are in good health. Maggie is about 85 pounds,9 years old and she is the larger shepherd/lab, possible greyhound mix. Whatever she is mixed with it must include sugar and spice because she is the sweetest girl. Gretchen is the shepherd/chow mix, 11 years old and a shy, quiet nature. She lets Maggie take charge and be her guardian.Gretchen doles out kisses freely though even to strangers she feels comfortable with. We would like these 2 adopted together since they have been living which each other for years .These girls may be older but they say older is wiser and they are not the type of dogs to get into trouble like a puppy. Both are fully vetted spayed. Please call or stop by the shelter if interested in adopting and adoption fees can be discussed due to age.
