Hi, my name is J.R. and I am a 6 year old male chihuahua mix that was surrendered recently by my previous owner. She is elderly & could no longer physically take care of me. I was very scared in the kennel at first. I wasn't socialized much and now I was forced to get to know strangers. It took me a few weeks to feel comfortable and have my true personality come out. I learned how to walk on a leash for the first time. I usually stay pretty close to a staff member on walks though, they almost trip on me! I made great friends with the therapy dog, Buddy, here. We sleep together so living in a household with another small,mellow dog would be nice. I bark at strangers that visit but then want to sniff them out and love to give kisses. I would love to live in a quiet household and would be perfect for an older couple with no little children. I was neutered this past December & updated on my shots so please come and visit me if interested!
